Ahmed Musa Appears In Russian League Team Of The Week

By James Agberebi:Super Eagles and CSKA Moscow forward, Ahmed Musa, has been included in the Russian Premier League Team of the Week, Completeportsnigeria.com reports.
The Team of the Week which is dominated by CSKA players(six players) was compiled by football facts and statistics website, whoscored.com.Musa’s inclusion was as a result of the brace he scored in CSKA’s 6-0 thrashing of visiting Arsenal Tula in last Sunday’s league clash.
The two goals took Musa’s tally to five after nine league games since he returned to the club on loan from Leicester City in January.
The Team of the Week which is in a 4-4-2 formation, saw Musa being placed as one of the two strikers.

John Ogu ‘Proud’ Of Hapoel Beer-Sheva Goal

Super Eagles midfielder John Ogu is pleased to score for Hapoel Beer-Sheva who were held to a 2-2 draw by Hapoel Haifa in Sunday’s Israeli Championship play-offs clash, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.

The goal was his first in six months for the club.

The 29-year-old Nigerian international last scored a goal for Hapoel Beer-Sheva in their 3-1 win over Hapoel Ra’annana on the 14th of October, 2017.

Ogu struck in the 79th minute of the game to make it 2-1 for Hapoel Beer-Sheva before an own goal from Ben Basat in the 90th minute nicked a point for the Camels from the game.

“Not the best game from us tonight but proud of the never give up from my team and fans. Happy to help my club with a goal. Thank you fans for the support. 6 More important games coming up,” Ogu wrote via his official Twitter account.

Despite the draw, Hapoel Beer-Sheva lead the Israeli Championship play-off round with seven points ahead of closest rivals Beiter Jerusalem who face Maccabi Tel Aviv later on Monday.

Hapoel Beer-Sheva face Maccabi Netanya away in their next game on Sunday.

John Ogu Is Hoping And Praying For Third Israeli League Title With Hapoel

Super Eagles midfielder John Ogu is dreaming of a third league title with Hapoel Beer Sheva when Israeli Championship play-off round kicks off this weekend reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The top six teams from the regular season will compete for honours where they will play each other twice with the first placed team winning the Israeli Championship and qualifying to participate in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League.
The runners-up and third place teams will qualify for the second qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League.
Hapoel Beer Sheva will face Bnei Yehuda in their first game of the Championship play off round on Sunday.Ogu, a winner of the Israeli league title in the 2015/16 and 2016/17 season with Hapoel Beer Sheva admits the outgoing season has been tougher for the Camels who narrowly won the regular season by just one point.
“This season has been very tough and I think the same thing will apply to the playoffs,”Ogu told CSN.
“I’m looking forward to it because it comes with a chance of winning another title. It’s not going to be easy but I believe we can achieve something special.”
Other teams to compete in the Championship play-off round include Maccabi Netanya, Maccabi Tel Aviv, Hapoel Haifa, Beitar Jerusalem and Bnei Yehuda.
Ogu who has been included in Nigeria’s 28-man squad for next week’s international friendlies against Poland and Serbia is expected to join his teammates in camp on Monday in Wroclaw,Poland.
